I should be grateful that I’ll be remembered for Forgestriker, things could have been much worse. For a long time, I was remembered for my ghost story Old Church ghosts. This is a story I never liked, the fact I didn’t like helped its popularity I think.
Before I go further, let me explain that I am not getting anything from Grammarly for promoting the software.
As a writer, I try to evaluate the item as reasonably as I can. I base my verdict on the ease of use, and Grammarly is far superior to Word, or any of the others I used.I can’t evaluate Ginger, never having used it, but of those I have used Futureproof is in my opinion the worst. Not only does it slow you down, but it looks cheap from the start.
As I sit in my chair and think of my reputation, it is hard to imagine that I was only a short while ago noted for being a prolific writer.
I used to do over 3,500 at a sitting, two or three times a week with great ease and pleasure. If I’ve written 3,500 words this year, it’s a stretch.
In the past, if I didn’t write at least twice a week I got edgy and nervous, but now things have changed, and not writing doesn’t affect me http://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/it-was-easier.html#.VmFnsFXhDnA. You could say I’ve become tainted over the years.
Things started to go wrong when I decided to try to calculate the numerous connections online my various outlets give me. It was at this point I realised how futile my writing had become, with too many connections to comprehend this blog is fortunate to get about 250 readers a day.
Years ago, http://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/i-used-to-love-wrting.html#.VmFpYFXhDnA, I got great pleasure creating new worlds for my readers, and then things changed and I came to a point where I didn’t care any longer. I realised if something were free people would be happy to read it http://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/the-unwritten-worlds-of-alan-place.html#.VmFp-FXhDnA. Something else that taints my view is the number of individuals who lied to me about wanting to buy books, and never buy an e-book http://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/the-thing-you-love-is-killing-you.html#.VmFq41XhDnA. After four years the trend hasn’t stopped, the only change is my view. I’ve gone from being upset at being lied to, to not giving a damn what people say. You can lie to someone for so long, and then you find they don’t care what you say http://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/so-many-lies.html#.VmFsGFXhDnA.
Despite the 580 sales for my series, I doubt there is any interest in my work, after all with all those sales, I’ve not had one review or comment from anyone who bought an ebook.
That is correct, my series Forgestriker is fast approaching its 600th sale, and not one word of thanks from the readers. Doesn’t it make you wonder, why writers feel neglected?
The occasional word of thanks would be greatly appreciated, especially after my last e-novella took over 14 months to write/ edit and did nothing in sales.
As part of my new policy radical change, I shall be using images of attractive ladies to attempt to boost my sales. One of the first projects I plan is to re-write my e-book A Sailor’s Love using the picture of my friend, the singer, Janey Kirk on the cover of my book the new Janine
